At a Bar - HUNK

So I’ve been role playing HUNK (aka Mr. Death) from the Resident Evil franchise for about a year now. Due to my creative schizophrenia, he and I have blended minds. I’m a bit concerned with how well we’ve shared a head, but it has suited us just fine so far.

I am no artist, on top of being very out of practice, but HUNK here was feeling a bit inspired by the release of Operation: Raccoon City. I could only play for about an hour before he overwhelmed much of my attention and sent my ass to my tablet. With his personality, resistance is futile. He never takes ‘no’ for an answer.

This is my first drawing done entirely from my tablet. Before this, I felt limited to hand drawing and scanning. I am surprisingly satisfied with my line work, as well as the end result of this piece, even despite rushing through the coloring. Half ass job is half ass.

HUNK is currently feeling terribly lonely. Thanks to a busy partner, he hasn’t had many opportunities to live his life in my current role play. He would never admit it, but he misses a certain someone who has been absent from his Umbrella-dominated life. On top of it, ORC makes him feel unappreciated and neglected, however much he prefers to remain in the shadows.

I think he’s having an early mid-life crisis.

I’m quite certain that with some mild manipulation, Rehab’s ‘Bartender (Sitting at a Bar)’ pretty much expresses his current mood. He has the bad but unshakable habit of being socially inept. He’d be known for needing to insert his boot in his mouth, if only he -realized- it. He’s just too much of an outcast, save for some ability to mesh with his fellow members of the USS. Even then, his work is all he really has in common (at least so far as he will reveal) with anyone.

I couldn’t resist the curly straw for fun. Then I considered how it reminds me of Umbrella’s vials and made it purple like the G-virus. That he couldn’t drink without a partial removal of his mask would likely have him thinking that having a beer really wouldn’t be worth it.
